Description The Carleton is a beautiful bar/restaurant located in the oldest residential building in Halifaz (built in 1759). Slate walls and warm, inviting, decor make it a perfect blend of the past and the present. The menu has something for everyone and - along with its extensive wine list - is priced in a range that's easily affordable. We also present live entertainment when the talent presents itself. Past performers have included: Joel Plaskett, Jill Barber, Steve Poltz, Gordie Sampson, Lenny Gallant, Damhnait Doyle, Nathan Wiley, Matthew Barber, Meaghan Smith, Catherine MacLellan, Jim Cuddy &Greg Keelor (Blue Rodeo), Jeff Martin (Tea Party), Bruce Guthro, Matt Mays, Jimmy Rankin, Willie Nile, Kelly Joe Phelps, The Oysterband, Ron Hynes, Ron Sexsmith, James Keelaghan, and the list goes on... Ours is the best acoustic venue in Halifax - if not the country - you've got to hear it to believe it. Check out our website for more information. The Carleton is owned by Mike Campbell and Mike Rhodes, previously the hosts of MuchMusic's cult hit show, Mike &Mike's Excellent X-Canada Adventures. Campbell was also the host of MuchEast and Going Coastal. Come in and say, "hi!"
